Cyber Security Awareness Training
The South Dakota Bureau of Information and Telecommunications (BIT) and the State’s Working Group on Cyber Security are tasked with securing the State’s computer networks and the information of our citizens. As part of our efforts to increase our cyber security awareness, the State requires state employees to take cyber security awareness training courses from our training vendor, Provider TBD.
Because most cybersecurity breaches start with human error, we need your help to protect citizen data and the State’s IT infrastructure. Employee awareness is one of our most important ways to combat attacks.
BIT is excited to announce improvements to the annual cybersecurity awareness training. First, we are partnering with BHR to utilize the new, statewide SDLearn Learning Management System to streamline your experience. Second, employees will be assigned training on the anniversary of their hire date, rather than everyone taking the training at the same time. New hires will also be enrolled in cybersecurity awareness training around their start date.
Beginning in July, each employee will receive an enrollment notification email from SDLearn@csod.com on or near their anniversary date of starting with state government. You will then have four weeks to take the training. To receive credit for training, you must click “Complete Lesson” at the end of the module. Please follow the instructions to access the platform and view any training assigned to you: https://bhr.sd.gov/sdlearn/
